Cross-play means competing with people on another supported platform. It should not be treated as evidence for cross-progression, shared purchases, or transferable saves because the cited cross-play instructions do not promise those features. Turn cross-play on or off

On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, EA says cross-play should be on by default when the game is launched for the first time. PC players can enable it from the main menu by opening Settings, choosing Game Settings, moving to the Cross-Play tab, and setting the option to On. If you are planning a mixed-platform session, it is still sensible to verify the setting rather than relying only on the default.

PlayStation 5 and PC players can turn cross-play off inside the game. From the main menu, open Settings, select Game Settings, choose Cross-Play, and toggle it Off. Xbox Series X|S handles disabling cross-network play through the console's system settings rather than the in-game switch described for PlayStation and PC. Disabling cross-play narrows the players you can meet and prevents a mixed-platform group from playing together. That outcome follows from the feature's purpose, but EA does not publish a queue-time guarantee for either setting. Our recommendation is to leave it on when your priority is joining friends on another supported platform and turn it off only when you intentionally want platform-limited play.

Add a friend through EA Connect

EA Connect is the in-game route for adding a person on another supported platform. From the College Football 27 main menu, select the EA Connect icon in the lower-right corner. Use cross-play in Online Dynasty

Online Dynasty is explicitly included in the cross-play list. EA's Dynasty help states that a new player can create a Dynasty or join another person's league by invite, and that offline Dynasty does not support invitations, online data, or cross-play. Choose the online form when users on different supported systems intend to share a league.

Before the commissioner advances important stages, our recommendation is to confirm that every participant has joined and can access the league. That is league-management advice rather than an EA rule. It reduces the chance that a setting or account issue is discovered after other users have already progressed. Keep league expectations, advance timing, and troubleshooting communication outside the game clear as well.

Troubleshoot a missing friend or failed invite

Start with the facts that can be checked locally. Confirm both copies are College Football 27, both devices are on the supported PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X|S list, and both users selected a supported cross-play mode. Verify the cross-play toggle on PC or PlayStation and the relevant Xbox network permission. Then confirm that the EA Connect request was accepted rather than left pending.

Next, compare identifiers. Search once by EA ID and, if needed, by the supported platform identifier. Make sure the person found is the intended account. Return to the main menu before recreating the invitation so both users begin from a known state. Restarting the game or device is a general troubleshooting suggestion, not an official guarantee, and should come after checking the documented setting and mode.

Finally, separate verified capability from expectation. College Football 27 officially supports mixed play across the three listed platform ecosystems and the five listed mode groups.
